KlevaKiosk

Tiles

Tiles are the home screen of your kiosk — the buttons customers tap to reach your galleries, menus, forms, and more. Here's how they work.

What are tiles?

Tiles are the buttons customers see when they open your kiosk. Each tile is a square or rectangle with a label and an icon. When a customer taps a tile, it takes them to the linked content — a gallery, a menu, a form, or a website.

Think of tiles as the home screen of your kiosk. You decide what appears on it and in what order.

Adding a tile to a station

Open your station and click the Tiles tab. Click Add Tile. Choose the tile type from the list, then fill in the settings for that type — for example, selecting which gallery or menu to link to. Give the tile a label — this is what customers read on the button.

Click Save. The tile appears on your kiosk immediately.

Tile types

KlevaKiosk supports the following tile types:

Gallery tile

Links to one of your galleries. Customers tap it to browse images, filter by category, and save favourites.

Menu tile

Links to one of your menus. Customers tap it to browse items and place an order.

Form tile

Links to one of your intake forms. Customers tap it to fill in the form on the tablet.

Link tile

Opens any URL — your website, a booking page, a social media profile, or anything else with a web address.

Gallery display tile

Shows a rotating slideshow of images from a gallery, auto-playing without customer interaction. Good for waiting areas.

Customising tile appearance

Each tile can have:

Label — the text that appears on the tile (e.g. "Our Work", "Order Here", "Check In").
Icon — choose from a set of built-in icons, or upload your own image.
Colour — override the station's default colour for this specific tile.
Size — some tile layouts allow you to make certain tiles larger (featured) than others.

Keep labels short — one to three words work best on a small tile.

Reordering tiles

Tiles are displayed in the order you add them, but you can drag them to any order you prefer. The most important tiles should come first — customers see them without needing to scroll.

Hiding and showing tiles

You can temporarily hide a tile without deleting it. Open the tile and toggle Visible off. The tile is no longer shown on the kiosk, but all its settings are saved. Toggle it back on when you're ready to show it again. This is useful for seasonal content or tiles you're still setting up.

Removing a tile

Open the tile and click Remove Tile. This removes it from the station. The content it was linked to (gallery, menu, etc.) is not deleted — you can add another tile to link to it again at any time.

Tips

  • Use short, action-oriented tile labels — "Browse Styles", "Order Now", "Check In" — so customers know exactly what to expect.
  • Put your most-used tiles first. Customers shouldn't need to scroll to find the main feature.
  • If you want to promote something seasonal, add a tile for it and hide it when the season ends.
  • Test each tile after adding it by opening your kiosk URL and tapping through.
