Menus

Build a digital menu customers can browse and order from directly on their phone. No paper, no waiting.

What is a menu?

A menu is a list of items with names, descriptions, and prices that customers can browse — and order from — directly on the kiosk. It works just like a digital menu at a restaurant, but it also works for salons offering treatments, spas offering services, or any business that sells items with a price.

Creating a menu

Go to Menus in the left menu and click New Menu. Give it a name — for example "Drinks", "Lunch Menu", or "Treatment List". You can add an optional description that appears at the top of the menu when customers view it. Click Save.

Adding categories

Menus are organised into categories. For a restaurant, you might have "Starters", "Mains", "Desserts", and "Drinks". For a salon, you might have "Haircuts", "Colour", and "Treatments".

Inside the menu, click Add Category. Enter a name. Categories are displayed in order — drag them to rearrange. Customers see the categories as sections when scrolling through your menu.

Adding menu items

Inside a category, click Add Item. Fill in:

Name — the item's name, e.g. "Flat White" or "Women's Haircut".
Description — optional. A short line about the item.
Price — enter the price in your local currency.
Image — optional. Select from your Media Library. Images make menus much more appealing.

Click Save. The item appears under its category.

Item options and modifications

Some items have choices — a coffee can be small, medium, or large; a pizza can have extra toppings. You can add option groups to any menu item. Each group has a name (e.g. "Size") and a list of choices (e.g. "Small — $3.50", "Medium — $4.50", "Large — $5.00").

You can make an option group required (customer must choose before ordering) or optional (customer can skip it).

How customers order

When a customer opens your kiosk and taps a Menu tile, they see your menu. They can scroll through categories, tap items to see details, and tap Add to Order. They build up a list of items, then tap Place Order.

The order is sent immediately to your Order Display. There's no payment taken through KlevaKiosk — customers pay at the counter as usual. The kiosk is for ordering, not checkout.

Linking a menu to a station

A menu is not visible on the kiosk until you add a Menu tile to a station. Go to your station's Tiles tab, click Add Tile, and choose Menu. Select the menu you want to show. See the Tiles guide for more.

Tips

  • Add photos to your menu items — even simple food or product photos dramatically increase customer engagement.
  • Keep category names short — they appear as tab labels on mobile screens.
  • If you don't take customer orders, you can still use menus as a price list — just hide the order button in Settings.
  • Make sure your Order Display is set up before customers start using the menu.
  • You can duplicate a menu to create a seasonal version without starting from scratch.
