Galleries

Galleries let customers browse your images, filter by category, and save favourites. Here's how to create them and get the most out of them.

What is a gallery?

A gallery is a collection of images that customers can browse on your kiosk. You might create a gallery called "Haircut Styles", one called "Colour Treatments", and another called "Before & After". Customers tap through images, and can save their favourites to show you when they sit down.

Creating a gallery

Go to Galleries in the left menu and click New Gallery. Enter a name for the gallery and a short description (optional — it shows on the kiosk tile). Then click Save to create it. You can add images to it next.

Adding items to a gallery

Open a gallery and go to the Items tab. Click Add Item. Select images from your Media Library — you can select multiple at once. Each item can have an optional title and notes (useful if you want to name a style or describe a technique).

You can drag items to reorder them within the gallery. The order you set here is the order customers see on the kiosk.

Categories

Within a gallery you can create categories to let customers filter what they see. For example, in a colour gallery you might have categories like "Blonde", "Brunette", "Red", and "Balayage".

To add a category, go to the Categories tab inside the gallery and click New Category. Then go back to Items and assign each item to one or more categories. On the kiosk, customers will see filter buttons at the top of the gallery.

Choosing a layout

Each gallery has a layout setting that controls how images are displayed on the kiosk:

Grid — Even rows and columns. Clean and predictable. Good for product photos.
Carousel — One image at a time, swiped left and right. Great for featured images.
Masonry — Pinterest-style columns of different heights. Best for varied portrait and landscape photos.

Change the layout in the gallery's Settings tab.

Customer favourites

When customers browse a gallery on the kiosk, they can tap a heart icon to save images they like. These are stored in their session. At the end, they can show you their favourites list — a simple, visual way to communicate what they want without words.

Favourites are session-based — they reset when the customer closes the browser. They're designed as a conversation tool, not a permanent record.

Linking a gallery to a station

A gallery is not visible on a kiosk until you link it through a Tile. Go to your station, open the Tiles tab, click Add Tile, and choose Gallery as the tile type. Select the gallery you want to show. See the Tiles guide for more detail.

Tips

  • Upload images to the Media Library first, then build your galleries from there — it keeps things organised.
  • Use descriptive gallery names customers will understand, like "Nail Designs" rather than "Gallery 1".
  • The masonry layout works best when you have a mix of portrait and landscape photos.
  • You can use the same image in multiple galleries.
  • Categories are optional — if you have fewer than 10 images, you probably don't need them.
